Nasri: Derby revenge sweet

Samir Nasri said revenge was sweet for him as he made amends for his derby disappointment last year with a starring role in Sunday's 4-1 thrashing of Manchester United.

He scored Manchester City's fourth goal and played a part in each of the first three at the Etihad Stadium.

It was a far cry from the corresponding fixture last December when he deflected in his former Arsenal team-mate Robin van Persie's injury-time winner and was blamed by former manager Roberto Mancini, who complained City only had "two-and-a-half men" in their defensive wall.

And Nasri said: "It's a different feeling from last year, and a different feeling for me as well.

"Last year I was involved in the third goal in a bad way, so this was a little revenge. I just want to share this moment with our fans.

"Last year was a little bit sad because we were losing 2-0 and came back, but in the last minute Robin scored that free kick. This year it was not the same scenario, and we are very happy."

Nasri believes City's emphatic win shows they are title contenders.

He added: "It was a big statement. We have sent a message to our rivals that this year we can be a force. To win like that is always special.

"We showed what good players we have in our team because we put in a very good performance."
