Flamini to miss key Arsenal fixtures
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mathieu Flamini has suffered a groin injury, which could rule him out for two to three weeks.
Flamini had to be substituted after only eight minutes of Saturday's 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace and has since undergone a scan to determine the extent of the problem.
"When we get the results we will know how long he will be out," Wenger said. "It doesn't look like a bad muscle injury but it is his groin."
With groin injuries generally taking around two to three weeks to heal, the midfielder is set to miss a string of important games for Arsenal.
Wenger's side face Chelsea in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night and then host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday. On November 6, they face a potentially crucial trip to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and on November 10 take on Manchester United in the league at Old Trafford.
Flamini has received widespread praise for his performances since returning to Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer.
