Kompany ruled out for further three weeks

Manchester City could be without captain Vincent Kompany for longer than they expected after the Belgian FA suggested the defender will be absent for another three weeks.
Kompany has missed City's last seven games with a thigh injury but manager Manuel Pellegrini said on Friday that the defender, who was hurt in the 3-1 win over Everton on October 5, should be able to return in two weeks' time.
That put him on course to make his comeback in the home game against Tottenham on November 24, but Belgium physio Lieven Messchalck, who has been working with the former Hamburg player, indicated he will be absent for a further seven days, taking his total time on the sidelines to eight weeks.
Messchalck told Sky Sports News: "I think Vincent is going to be ready in several weeks. We will do everything we can to bring back Vincent in a good way for a long time.
"First of all he had a rupture, a tear into the abductor and then also he has bad luck with a small thing on the front side now, so it's everything together.
"It's not really so long: eight weeks is nothing in the time of injury. You must respect biology."
After the Tottenham game, City are at home to Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League before Swansea visit the Etihad Stadium on December 1.
Summer signing Martin Demichelis has been deputising for Kompany as City's right-sided centre-back.
