Borussia Dortmund are keen on securing the services of Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

Dzeko is thought to be open to a January move from the Etihad, while Dortmund are aiming to replace star striker Robert Lewandowski, who looks set to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.

The Bosnian international has fallen down the pecking order under new City boss Manuel Pellegrini, following the summer arrival of Alvaro Negredo and the Chilean's reliance on Sergio Aguero.

While Dortmund appear hesitant to part with more than £15 million for Dzeko, they could be tempted to pay more with City rivals Manchester United likely to bid for midfielders Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan.

However, any deal for the midfield duo could be sweetened with the inclusion of Shinji Kagawa, who has struggled to break into the first team at Old Trafford since joining United from Dortmund for £12m in June 2012.
