Fulham have announced the club-record signing of Greece international Konstantinos Mitroglou on a four-and-a-half year deal, after the striker snubbed West Ham.

Transfer Deadline Day LIVE

Mitroglou, 25, has netted 14 times in this season's Greek Super League, making him the league's top goalscorer, and signs for a fee of £12 million.

The striker scored three crucial goals in Greece's two-legged World Cup qualifying playoff win over Romania and also became the first Greek player to score a hat trick in the UEFA Champions League against Anderlecht earlier this season.

A statement on the Fulham website read: "Fulham Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Greece international Konstantinos Mitroglou on a four-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee, seeing the player at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2018."

Fulham have also signed Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby on loan, while Dimitar Berbatov has been linked with a return to White Hart Lane as well as Monaco.

And at the 11th hour, Everton defender John Heitinga joined Fulham on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The Netherlands international, who was out of contract at Goodison Park in June, completed the deal just an hour before the transfer deadline.

Heitinga, who had made just five appearances for Everton this season, had been looking for a move in order to get regular first-team football and increase his chances of winning a place in his country's World Cup squad.

The 30-year-old had looked set to join West Ham on a permanent deal in early January, but pulled out of the move, saying that it did not feel like the right move for his career.

Turkish champions Galatasaray were interested in a move for the defender, who was also linked with Serie A side Roma, but he has instead made the move to London.

Heitinga, who began his career at Ajax, arrived on Merseyside from Atletico Madrid for £6.2 million in September 2009. He marked his final Everton appearance with a goal in last Saturday's 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory at Stevenage.
