Bayern Munich forward Arjen Robben believes Manchester United can punish the reigning European champions when they meet at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Bayern, who were crowned Bundesliga champions last week, head to Manchester for their Champions League quarter-final first leg tie.

But despite United's poor form in the Premier League, former Chelsea man Robben believes David Moyes' side are a different prospect in Europe.

"You only need to get distracted for a second and you lose against Manchester United," Robben told Bayern Munich's official website.

"If you lose concentration and lose the ball, then you get punished there.

"We go there with a lot of confidence - but there is no free ticket. It would be a mistake to say we can do it easily. It will be difficult - league form doesn't always translate to Europe.

"It's going to be a tough duel and we've got to watch out. The media and public opinion is that Manchester [United] are not in good shape and that we're going through to the semis, but I don't like that at all."

Bayern head into the game having lost just one match in all competitions, with Manchester City leaving the Allianz Arena with a 3-2 victory in the Champions League group stage.
