Kevin Mirallas claims Arsenal are feeling the pressure to finish in the top four and qualify for next season's Champions League after another confidence-sapping defeat.

Everton beat Arsene Wenger's side 3-0 on Sunday to close to within one point of them with a game in hand.

Arsenal are still fourth - the last qualifying place for Europe's elite club competition - but their manager's record of taking Arsenal into the Champions League for the past 16 years under serious threat from Mirallas and his team-mates.

And Mirallas believes all the momentum is with his team. "There's so much pressure on Arsenal now because things are in our hands," the Belgian told the Liverpool Echo.

"They are almost obliged to be in the Champions League, that's what they do. They've qualified for years, but we are breathing down their necks and we can go fourth if we win our game in hand."

Mirallas revealed Everton's inspiration to inflict another blow to Arsenal in their tumultuous season was the 4-1 thrashing they suffered in the FA Cup quarter-finals in March.

"We were determined to get some kind of revenge," he said. "We conceded four goals down there and it hurt. This was excellent revenge. We're in the right place."
