Aaron Ramsey has told his Arsenal team-mates they need to "put things right" and save their season with a morale-lifting FA Cup win after their Premier League campaign suffered another blow..

The midfielder insists there is no time to feel sorry for themselves after their latest away thumping , this time at Everton as they need to end to campaign strongly.

Arsenal face Wigan in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday with the prospect of taking on Hull or Sheffield United in the final if they get through.

Ramsey said: "We have to pick ourselves back up now. We have still got a lot of points to play for. We are in the semi-final of the FA Cup so we have got to put things right.

"We have to put a strong run-in together now. We have five games left and we will aim to win them all to give us the best opportunity to finish fourth or higher."

A trophy would provide some satisfaction in a season which has promised much and delivered little.

Arsenal's defeat at Goodison Park left them in fourth place but with just a one point advantage over Everton, who have a game in hand.

With Arsene Wenger's record of taking Arsenal into the Champions League for 16 consecutive seasons in danger of coming to an end, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits the Wigan cup clash has taken on added significance.

He said: "We've got plenty to play for still. We've got the FA Cup now, so we're going to have to switch on and focus very quickly and forget about this.

"I hope we can kick on from now and start a good run. The Wigan game is huge obviously. We know it's the only trophy we can win and it will be a massive boost for the club and the fans."
