Rodgers: We want to win league the right way

Brendan Rodgers insists he will not compromise Liverpool's values of "humility and class" as he continues in his quest to the club's 24-year wait for a domestic championship.

Rodgers' side sit two points clear at the top of the Premier League with four games left to go. They beat rivals Manchester City 3-2 on Sunday, while Pellegrini's side slipped up against Sunderland on Wednesday to further aid Liverpool's title charge.

Mignolet: We have cover

• Simon Mignolet insists that Liverpool can cope without Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge as they continue their Premier League title chase at Norwich on Sunday.
• Despite Sturridge receiving a fitness boost ahead of the trip to Carrow Road, Mignolet believes Rodgers has strength in his squad for cover.
• "I am sure we have a good enough squad to deal with these kind of situations," Mignolet told the Liverpool Echo."Look at how Joe performed when he came off the bench against Manchester City.
• "It was a difficult moment in the game at 2-2. It was tough to be a substitute coming on at that stage but he really helped the team out.
• "He did a good job just as Lucas did away to West Ham the week before. Victor also helped us when he came on against City - not only offensively but also in defence. The manager has options."

However, the win against City at Anfield came with added controversy as Luis Suarez was involved in yet another diving saga; Rodgers, though, does not want to abandon the club's values in the chase for silverware.

"We will try to do it in the right way - I take great pride in winning in the most sporting way we can," Rodgers told the Mirror.

"If you look at us we are top of the Premier League and we are top of the Fair Play League. We don't surround referees. We want to win, but it shows you a mark of our behaviour.

"They are the values of this club. It's a club that has won many trophies in the past but had the humility and the class. One word I always had in my mind when I joined Liverpool is 'class.' So that is important to me - that those values are restored.

"I believe you can't affect refereeing decisions. Absolutely. There will be little bits of luck that go for and against you but I like to think as a sporting team and a team that's trying to work well we've got our rewards this year."

Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge has tweeted to reveal his frustration at being injured during Sunday's victory over City, stressing that he is determined to be fit for the match against Norwich City at Carrow Road this weekend:

Rodgers however revealed in his Thursday press conference that Sturridge is "struggling" to be fit for the trip.
