Moses tipped Liverpool for title success

Victor Moses says Liverpool have looked like champions to him from the moment he saw them in training.

The striker, on loan from Chelsea, recognised their potential in his opening training session with the squad.

"When I first came here, I knew that Liverpool were going to win the league - honest," he told the Liverpool Echo of the club who will take the title for the first time since 1990 if they can earn seven points from their remaining three fixtures.

"Even when I spoke to the press, I said that we would win it. Just from seeing the way everyone trained, that first training session, and the games that I played in early on, I could see the quality that we have here.

"There is huge talent at this club and I knew that this team could go far. We are in a position now where if we win the rest of our games, we will win the Premier League. That's not a bad position to be in, is it?"

Luis Suarez has expressed a different view, claiming that Liverpool's squad should not be able to take the title because of a lack of depth and the club's low spending relative to rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.

But Moses, having experience from Stamford Bridge and Anfield, remains convinced. He could be forgiven for divided loyalties, something which Liverpool and former Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge - who expects to be fit for the game - has also admitted to.

Moses is still in contact with Chelsea players and manager Jose Mourinho. Even though he will sit out the clash against his parent side on Sunday because he is ineligible, he will watch the game at home.

"It will be strange for me, but they're the rules," he said. "I will train this week as normal. My job is just to make sure I stay fit, because we have other big games coming up, which I want to be involved in. I just have to work hard and to help the team as best I can.

"I still speak to a few of the lads at Chelsea and keep in touch with how they are doing. They ask me how I am getting on up here as well. I have a lot of friends there.

"I speak to Jose Mourinho, too, every now and then. He asks how I am doing. I will be watching on Sunday, definitely."
