Luis Suarez would find it "very difficult to say no" to joining Real Madrid if the opportunity arose this summer, according to his lawyer.

  • Luis Suarez has made the cut for Uruguay's final 23-man World Cup squad as he steps up his recovery from a knee operation.
  • The Liverpool striker underwent keyhole surgery on a meniscus problem on May 22 and is facing a race against time to be fit for Brazil.
  • However Suarez is believed to be progressing well in his recovery and has told his Liverpool team-mates in the England camp he will be fit to face them on June 19.
  • Uruguay start their World Cup campaign against Costa Rica in just over two weeks' time.

Alejandro Balbi says Suarez has a "predisposition for Spain", which could reignite speculation surrounding the striker's future at Liverpool.

"A year ago he was very likely to leave Liverpool," Balbi told Spanish radio network Cadena SER.

"Now I think it is very difficult because he is an idol, although clubs can offer a lot of money.

"If there is such a big offer from Real Madrid, it would be very difficult to say no. Luis Suarez has always had a predisposition for Spain."

Suarez was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Real last summer and looked set to seal a move away from Anfield after handing in a transfer request.

However Liverpool's principle owner John W. Henry stood firm and Suarez, on the back of an excellent start to the season, signed a new long-term deal in December.

Earlier this month, Suarez said he was "so happy" at Anfield, after scoring 31 goals in a campaign that saw him share the European Golden Boot with Cristiano Ronaldo and named the PFA and Football Writers' Player of the Year.
