Liverpool look set to beat Arsenal and Tottenham to the signing of Belgium striker Divock Origi.

The 19-year-old has impressed for his nation at the World Cup and came off the bench to score a dramatic 88th-minute winner in the 1-0 victory over Russia - a result which sent the Belgians through to the last 16.

Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with the Lille striker, but Liverpool have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign him with a £6 million bid and the offer of him being loaned back to Lille next season mooted.

Origi is also keen on a move to the Premier League, saying: "As a little boy I always dreamed of playing in the Premier League but I'm still young and now I'm in an important tournament so I'm try to focus on the team."

If Liverpool were to sign Origi and send him back out on loan, he would then be expected to team up with manager Brendan Rodgers for the start of the 2015-16 campaign.

Origi would be Rodgers' third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Rickie Lambert from Southampton for £4m and Bayer Leverkusen's Emre Can for £9.75m.
