Vidal to hold talks over Juventus future

Arturo Vidal insists he has not considered his future at Juventus and is yet to talk to new manager Massimiliano Allegri amid reports of interest from Manchester United.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer but played down questions from reporters about a move on his return to Turin airport from a post-2014 World Cup break.

"I'm still on my holidays," Vidal said. "I've only just returned and I'll have to talk to the coach and then we'll see. I'm happy here."

When pressed on whether he is going to join United, Vidal repeated "no" three times, joking instead that he was going to join Lazio.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport had quoted the midfielder as saying: "I'm happy here and I'm relaxed and I think the Juve fans can be relaxed too, but I don't know - I've not spoken to Allegri yet, or my team-mates, but I'm not going to Manchester."

Several other clubs are reportedly interested in Vidal but United were said to be leading the chase. Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had stated earlier this week that United were willing to break transfer records and will "do what it takes" to win the Premier League title.

"The reality is that we're not afraid of spending significant amounts of money in the transfer market," he said.

"Whether it's a record or not doesn't really resonate with us. What resonates is a top, top elite player that the manager wants that is going to be a star for Manchester United."
