Wilshere praises Welbeck's technical ability

Arsenal's Joel Campbell says he will look to impress wherever manager Arsene Wenger chooses to play him, and claims he was left "astonished" by team-mate Santi Cazorla's technical ability.

Campbell, who returned to the Emirates after an impressive loan-spell at Olympiakos and World Cup with Costa Rica, can be deployed either as a striker or as a wide player.

With Olivier Giroud ruled out until the New Year, Wenger will likely rely on Alexis Sanchez, Yaya Sanogo or new signing Danny Welbeck through the middle, but Campbell is keen to play wherever his manager sees fit.

"Arsene Wenger has many good options to line up a great attacking force," Campbell told Arsenal Player.

"I presume that every attacking player in the squad will fight with me for a starting place. I am my biggest competitor - I have to train hard and get better day after day. Being here is a great opportunity for me.

"I feel that I can contribute with speed, goals and dribbling skills. I am a player capable of playing either on the right or left flanks or in the middle. It's down to the manager to decide which of those three positions I am needed most in. I just have to do my best anywhere I play."

Campbell will be hoping to feature alongside Spaniard Cazorla, whose ability appears to have impressed the 22-year-old greatly.

"I must say that Santi Cazorla has some exceptional technical skills," Campbell said. "He can take corners or free-kicks equally with his right or left foot. That's some technique. That's a very unusual thing to see and it has left me astonished."

Cazorla recently claimed tiki-taka football is not dead, despite Spain's fall from grace at the World Cup in Brazil. The midfielder revealed to ESPN earlier this summer that he is happy at Arsenal, despite speculation linking him with a move back to his native Spain.
