Stevan Jovetic is a doubt for Manchester City's clash with Arsenal on Saturday after Montenegro coach Branko Brnovic confirmed the forward missed Monday's Euro 2016 qualifying win against Moldova due to a hamstring injury.

Jovetic, 24, sustained the injury during training with his national team and reportedly limped out of the session holding his leg.

The forward, who missed much of last season due to fitness problems, has started the new campaign in good form for City, but may now have to sit out Saturday's Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

"Jovetic's injury has caused us a lot of disruption," Brankovic told the Football Association of Montenegro's official website. "It would be a major setback for a much bigger team than Montenegro."

If Jovetic - who scored twice in the win over Liverpool last month - fails to recover in time to face Arsenal, City will be left with just Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko as options to play up front following Alvaro Negredo's loan move to Valencia.
