Wenger 'worried' about Arsenal injuries

Arsene Wenger has included Jack Wilshere in his squad for the Champions League clash with Galatsaray after the midfielder took part in training on Tuesday.

Wilshere went over on his ankle during Saturday's Premier League draw at home to Tottenham, raising fears that he could be set for another spell on the sidelines after a series of ankle problems in recent years.

Yet the initial signs which suggested Wilshere's fitness would not be an issue for the Galatasaray tie or the vital Premier League match against Chelsea on Sunday were confirmed by his appearance on the training pitches at Arsenal's London Colney base.

"Jack Wilshere is in the squad for tomorrow," Wenger told a news conference. "Will I start him? I don't know yet, but he's in the squad."

Abou Diaby misses out, however, while Aaron Ramsey is now also expected to miss a month with a hamstring injury sustained against Spurs.

"I left Abou Diaby out as well because he's not completely there yet," Wenger added. "We lost Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey in our last game and it could have been three because Wilshere was a doubt for a long time but he recovered quite well."

Wenger also confirmed that Theo Walcott is set to return to training next week, having been out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury since January.

"It's very good news," Wenger said. "It's a big thing for us. Let's not forget that Theo got injured on January 1 and we are now in October. That's 10 months and we had to wait for a long time. Hopefully now we will have no more setbacks."
