Van Gaal 'chose United over four other clubs'
Louis van Gaal says he was offered jobs by three other clubs - but chose Manchester United because they offered the best challenge.
Van Gaal was in demand after guiding an unfancied Netherlands side to third place at the World Cup in Brazil, but said he was drawn by the size of the task at Old Trafford.

"I had choices," he said. "I could have chosen four other clubs, but this was the challenge for me and why I am here. I know of course it is a big challenge, not so easy, but I accept that.
"I don't expect anything. It is at the end of the season that it counts where you are. Now doesn't count. We are going the right way, despite the injuries we have had.
"But I think the most important thing is that the players want to follow the philosophy I have, which is why we have to continue despite the many changes we have made."
