Nice striker Loic Remy has declared he is interested in signing for Tottenham Hotspur after snubbing a move to Stoke City.

West Ham United were the first Premier League club to move for the Frenchman, and he flew into England on Thursday for talks with Stoke. But Remy, 23, has since ruled out moving to the Potters and instead could sign for Spurs, though Rennes are also in the race.

Harry Redknapp is a known admirer of Remy but has so far been reluctant to pay the asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £14 million.

Remy, who played in Nice's 0-0 home draw against Valenciennes on Saturday, now wants Nice to negotiate a price with Spurs so he can move to England before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

"A move to Spurs would be interesting," Remy said. "Stoke is not the move that I want. Nice is in real need of money and it should be adaptable with the price to help sell me.

"I want to go. I really hope there can be an agreement before the end of the month. I am interested in England, but there is also a club in France in for me."
