Chelsea claim Capital One Cup glory against Tottenham at Wembley
Chelsea lifted their first trophy since Jose Mourinho returned to the club in 2013 as they defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
John Terry and an own goal from Kyle Walker secured Chelsea the victory in a game where Spurs struggled to test goalkeeper Petr Cech, with Christian Eriksen's free kick that hit the bar the closest they came.
Chelsea opened the scoring just before half-time when Terry's shot inside the box deflected off Harry Kane, leaving goalkeeper Hugo Lloris with little chance to react in time.
The Blues doubled their lead on 56 minutes, again through a deflected effort. Diego Costa crossed from the left and the ball clipped off Walker to beat Lloris at his near post.
