Harry Kane says Tottenham's League Cup final defeat to Chelsea at Wembley left him with the "worst feeling in the world".

Spurs were beaten 2-0 on Sunday, as John Terry opened the scoring and then Kyle Walker deflected into his own net.

Kane has enjoyed an excellent season, scoring 24 goals so far in all competitions, but admits the final disappointment has hit him hard.

"It's the worst feeling in the world losing, and losing in a final on the big stage is even worse," the 21-year-old told SpursTV.

"When you see Chelsea lift that trophy at the end it gives you that fire in your belly. It's disappointing - the lads gave it everything and I thought we played well.

"In these big games you don't always get the luck you need and I felt Chelsea did with a couple of deflected goals which on another day wouldn't go in."

The campaign is Mauricio Pochettino's first in charge at White Hart Lane and Kane has been encouraged by the progress made under the Argentine.

Asked what was said in the dressing room, Kane added: "Just to be proud of ourselves. We've come a long way. It's a very young team with a new manager.

"To be in a final in the first season is great."
