Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed he is ready to quit Manchester City due to his limited first-team opportunities.

Adebayor, 26, appears to have slipped down the pecking order at Eastlands, playing just seven minutes of City's opening two Premier League fixtures, and reports have linked the striker with Real Madrid and Juventus.

Adebayor insists he is willing to battle for his place at City should he stay but says he will "definitely" leave if an offer comes in.

"The season is going to be very long and very difficult for myself," he told talkSPORT. "I'm a footballer and have to keep going and not give up. I need to keep fighting for myself and enjoying my football.

"If you're in a team and you're not playing, and there is a team that comes in for me, then I will definitely be on my way out because I'm a footballer and I love playing.

"If I don't have a chance to play here, there will be a lot of chance to play somewhere else. If they [City] force you out then you always have to follow your destiny."

Roberto Mancini has indicated that Roque Santa Cruz could also move on, with Lazio and Fulham showing interest.

"I think if Roque wants to stay I'm happy, but Roque is a good guy, a good player," he said. "Like Shay [Given] - he wants to play. I think that if Roque finds a good situation for him, he can go."
