Emmanuel Adebayor claims Manchester City have "reached an agreement with Juventus" for a loan deal to be completed in the January transfer window.

Adebayor has been arguably the most high profile casualty of Roberto Mancini's mass summer spending spree, making just two Premier League starts this season. The Togolese has scored five goals in all competitions, but four of those have come in the Europa League.

Following the arrivals of David Silva, Mario Balotelli and James Milner over the summer, Adebayor has fallen down the City pecking order, and he was even an unused substitute behind out-of-favour Brazilian Jo at Fulham on Sunday.

At 26 years of age, Adebayor should still have his best years in front of him, and it appears City are ready to cut their losses on a man who once cost them in the region of £25 million.

Adebayor told Sport/Foot Magazine: "I don't know what I did wrong to Roberto Mancini, but he never makes me play.

"I can tell you that City has already reached an agreement with Juventus for a loan. I therefore expect to be able to leave."

Juve are also said to have shown interest in Manchester United striker Federico Macheda, but his agent, Giovanni Bia, has dismissed the prospect of a move.

"What I can say is that no one has called me - neither Manchester United nor Juventus - so for now I can rule out a move to Turin," he told Calcio Mercato. "Macheda is happy in England and is not feeling the urge to return to Italy."
