Coyle resisting Elmander's Liverpool lure

Owen Coyle has not given up on efforts to tie Johan Elmander to a new contract at Bolton, despite continued links between the Swede and a move to Liverpool.
Elmander has been in superb form for the Trotters this season, scoring eight goals in all competitions. Following an £8.2 million move from Toulouse in 2008, the striker is finally showing the sort of form that forced Bolton to make him their record signing.
However, with success comes inevitable outside interest, and Roy Hodgson is said to be leading the queue to bring Elmander to Liverpool. The 29-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract, and he reportedly snubbed a recent fresh offer from Bolton.
Liverpool are said to be preparing a £5 million January move to provide support for Fernando Torres up front, but Coyle has not given up hope of persuading the player to stay.
"It's fair to say that Elmander and his people have not closed the door on us," Coyle was quoted as saying by the Sun. "We'll continue with the dialogue and, hopefully, get to a place where we are all happy."
