Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is steeling himself for an approach from England for Harry Redknapp, but is positive they will not lose their manager.

The FA top brass are putting together a plan for when Fabio Capello departs in 2012 and Redknapp's name has featured prominently in speculation about the Italian's successor.

His stock is on the rise having led Tottenham to Champions League qualification last season and Levy is aware that his manager could be a target for the national job.

Levy has no intention of seeing Tottenham broken up before their potential is realised but is aware of the likely interest in Redknapp. He said: "Harry is on a long-term contract. If and when they contact us we will have to deal with it accordingly.

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm sure Harry wants to continue managing Tottenham and we are delighted to have him."

Redknapp's deal at White Hart Lane runs until the summer of 2013, but he has admitted he could be tempted to take on the England job.
