Kean confirmed as Blackburn boss

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed Steve Kean will remain in charge of team affairs until the end of the season.
Rovers axed Sam Allardyce in controversial circumstances last week, citing a need to bring in a fresh approach. Venky's, the club's owners, said they would not rush an appointment - suggesting it could take until the end of the season to put a new manager in place.
Kean was given the reins in a temporary capacity last week and he has now been presented with the chance to press for the job on a permanent basis after being handed a contract until the end of the season.
"Following the departure of Mr Sam Allardyce as football manager of Blackburn Rovers Football Club earlier this month, Mr Steve Kean was appointed as manager," read a statement on Blackburn's official website. "Venkys London Limited - Blackburn Rovers - has decided to continue with Mr Steve Kean as manager, until the end of the season, June 2011."
