Blackburn confirm Ronaldinho bid

Blackburn Rovers have made a statement of intent by launching a £6.2 million bid for AC Milan star Ronaldinho. Owner Anuradha Desai confirmed to Sky Sports that an offer has been made for the player.
The Italian side are ready to cash in on Ronaldinho - whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season - while they still can.
That has alerted Rovers' ambitious new owners Venky's, who have made clear their desire for a more attacking brand of football at Ewood Park. Ronaldinho, a former World Player of the Year, would bring an injection of flair to Blackburn's functional style of play.
They will face stiff competition from Brazilian side Gremio, where Ronaldinho enjoyed a spell in the formative years of his career. The 30-year-old joined Milan in 2008 after five trophy-laden years with Barcelona that saw him feted as one of the greatest players of all time.
Desai told BBC Radio Lancashire: "He is keen to play in the EPL [English Premier League] and I think that goes in our favour."
Blackburn have also expressed interest in signing David Beckham on loan from LA Galaxy. Boss Steve Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We are close to signing two, possibly three, although the third is the outsider.
"Hopefully talks can continue and, with someone like Beckham, someone will get a good player if he comes over here, and if he does come back to this country, he is someone we would be interested in."
