Ivanovic hopes to secure new Chelsea contract

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic looks set to be rewarded for his performances this season with a new deal.
Ivanovic, who scored one and set up the other in Saturday's 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, has become an increasingly important player at Stamford Bridge due to his versatility since breaking into the team in the 2008-09 season.
The defender, who will turn 27 next month, is currently contracted to Chelsea until the summer of 2012 and the club are eager to avoid him moving into the final year of his deal without agreeing an extension.
Both AC Milan and Juventus are said to be monitoring the situation, forcing Chelsea to act.
"I want to stay and I hope it will be sorted out soon," the Serbia international revealed. "We are talking about my new contract but we will see in the next couple of weeks.
"I don't want to say anything wrong. I hope things are going the right way. This is all I can say."
Ivanovic has made 85 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals.
