Lampard wants Torres at Chelsea
Frank Lampard has urged Roman Abramovich to launch a fresh bid for Fernando Torres by claiming that the Liverpool striker would be "very welcome" at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have seen their approaches for Torres rebuffed by Liverpool, who remain determined to keep hold of the striker despite his transfer request.
Reports have suggested that a fee of £50 million would tempt the Anfield hierarchy to sell one of their prize assets, with Ajax striker Luis Suarez set to arrive on Merseyside as a potential replacement.
Now Lampard has called for Abramovich to test Liverpool's resolve once again before the transfer window slams shut at the start of next week.
"Players of a top, top level and world class players will always help your squad," Lampard told ESPN. "It remains to be seen what happens with the club, who they bring in and who the manager wants to bring in, but he will always be very welcome from us."
