Redknapp hoping for 'miracle' in race for fourth

Harry Redknapp believes Spurs need a 'miracle' if they are to finish fourth in the Premier League and qualify for next season's Champions League.

Spurs are currently fifth in the table - six points behind Manchester City, with just three games remaining. They do still have to play Roberto Mancini's side, however, but Redknapp remains pessimistic of his side's chances of overhauling their rivals.

"It will take a miracle (to finish fourth)," Redknapp said. "Roberto Mancini has got a fantastic squad. They're in a great position.

"They are six points ahead of us and they have a better goal difference by miles."

Redknapp believes the Eastlands outfit will eventually win the title.

"I don't see what will stop them," he added. "They will keep improving their squad until eventually they will win the championship."

Spurs will be without Gareth Bale for the remainder of the season, and that - along with Rafael van der Vaart's loss of form - is another reason behind Redknapp's lack of optimism.

"When we've needed that little bit of magic in the last month or six weeks, Gareth has been injured and we've lost that little spark that turns draws into wins," he said.

"Gareth and Rafa were so good, they were the difference between drawing and losing. They were turning games with fantastic individual performances as well as the team playing well."
