Tevez set for bench role against Spurs

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini will name captain Carlos Tevez on the bench in Tuesday's crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham, as he looks to prove his fitness for the FA Cup final next weekend.
Tevez suffered a hamstring injury against Liverpool on April 11 and has been missing ever since. However, the inspirational Argentine is key to City's hopes of qualifying for Europe next season as he has bagged 19 goals this campaign.
Doubts remain over his fitness, but Mancini is willing to risk Tevez in a bid to wrap up Champions League football as soon as possible.
"Carlos can probably be on the bench," said Mancini. "I'm disappointed because if we had won the game at Everton [the race for fourth] was finished and we could have prepared well for the final.
"But now we are thinking only of Tottenham. It is impossible to rest players and yes, I have learned from the Liverpool game.
"It will be very hard. I think that for Champions League qualification we have no problem because we have three games to play and we only need three points.
"But if we want to close this situation we should try to win. It is like having two finals in a week. This is the problem, but now we should try to win against Tottenham."
