Redknapp reveals failed Jones bid

Harry Redknapp has revealed Tottenham Hotspur failed with a bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones.
Jones seems set to leave Blackburn for Manchester United, with the 19-year-old having reportedly travelled to Old Trafford for a medical.
It has been claimed Jones spoke to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger before seemingly opting for United, but he also had at least one other London club on his tail.
"We were in for Phil Jones, along with five other top clubs," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "I think everybody was in for the boy.
"I think he is a lad who can one day go on to be an England centre half and maybe a captain of England. I think he is that good.
"He is a great signing for Manchester United.
"I think you will find almost all the top teams were bidding for him and he had the choice and has made up his mind that Manchester United is the right move for him.
"He has got everything, he is quick and strong and looks a great lad. I think Alex has pulled off a real coup there."
