Tottenham are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Germany international Serdar Tasci from Stuttgart, according to the player's agent.

The £12 million-rated defender has been linked with Spurs in the past, with Harry Redknapp reported to have unsuccessfully attempted to sign the 24-year-old last summer.

Redknapp is looking to strengthen his options at centre-back ahead of the new campaign after the departure of Jonathan Woodgate and ongoing concerns over the fitness of Ledley King, while Sebastien Bassong has also expressed a desire to depart White Hart Lane.

Tasci is also of interest to the likes of Juventus, Malaga and Lazio - while Spurs' arch-rivals Arsenal have been linked with him in the past.

Tasci's agent Maurizio Gaudino has confirmed that Spurs are interested in his client, although a deal between both clubs has not been reached so no negotiations over personal terms have begun.

"Tottenham and two other English clubs are keen on Serdar," said Gaudino in The Sun. "No discussions are yet under way, but it's down to the interested clubs to speak with Stuttgart and myself."

Tasci was a member of Germany's 2010 World Cup squad that eventually finished third at the tournament in South Africa.
