Sergio Perez is closing in on a deal to stay at Force India next year and is hoping to have it confirmed in the next couple of weeks.

Perez moved to Force India this season after losing his drive at McLaren at the end of 2013. Team boss Vijay Mallya recently said sees no reason to change his driver line-up for 2015, and although Perez was not willing to confirm anything ahead of an official announcement, he is hoping to have some good news soon.

"Nothing confirmed yet," he said when asked about 2015. "We should be sorted for next year in the next couple of weeks and then let's see. On my side, it's a bit early to confirm anything, but I expect things are going to move on very quickly."

However, after his experience at McLaren, when he found out he would not be driving for the team in 2014 late in the 2013 season, he said he did not want to tempt fate.

"You've seen in the past that anything can happen. I don't want to confirm anything before we sign. Everything was pretty much there and it changed pretty quickly, so nothing is confirmed yet."

Focusing on this year, Perez said he is still confident Force India can beat McLaren in this year's constructors' championship.

"We must stay ahead of them and we can. If you've seen the last couple of races, we have been really unlucky mainly - obviously I did a mistake in the last race and we lost some points - but mainly it has been other factors that hopefully we can clear and I see no reason why we can't stay ahead of them."
