Sutil praises Red Bull ingenuity
Force India driver Adrian Sutil thinks the reason why Red Bull currently has the fastest car on the grid is because the team is 'smarter than everyone else'.
"You have to push the rules as far as you can," Sutil told Auto Motor und Sport. "And Red Bull have been smarter than everyone else. Somehow they manage to do everything a little better."
Red Bull bought the struggling Jaguar Racing outfit at the end of the 2004 season and transformed the team into a winning constructor within five years. Many outsiders, including Sutil, put a large degree of the success story down to star aerodynamicist and current technical officer of the team, Adrian Newey.
"I think Herr Newey has very special skills. For me, the Red Bull is an incredible car."
Red Bull has been at the cutting edge of innovation in 2010, first with its blown rear diffuser and now with the flexible front wing that other teams are looking at with a combination of suspicion and envy.
According to Sutil, however, the team's latest innovation is just another example of the team's ingenuity.
"If you notice nothing in the tests, then they have done nothing wrong. That's just clever."
