Liuzzi to use crash-test chassis in Abu Dhabi

Tonio Liuzzi will use a crash-test chassis at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after writing off his race chassis last weekend.

Liuzzi crashed on lap 49 of the Brazilian Grand Prix after a suspected suspension upright failure at turn two. It was his second major accident in three races after Felipe Massa took him out of the Japanese Grand Prix last month and Force India will not have enough time to repair the damage to the race chassis ahead of Abu Dhabi.

"We think it was the front left upright that failed, but the team will bring the car back and analyse everything at the factory this week," he said in his ESPNF1 column. "Unfortunately it damaged the monocoque and that makes it two chassis we've got through in three races after Felipe Massa took me out in Japan. The other bad news is that the replacement chassis is an old crash-test chassis and is not in the best condition. Fortunately, it's just for the last race and we will have to do the best we can with what we have."

He also played down suggestions that he and Force India team-mate Adrian Sutil had fallen out after the pair nearly came together during qualifying.

"After qualifying there were some rumours that Adrian and I had fallen out over a mistake I made, but it was nothing and certainly hasn't created any issues in the team. The press are always looking for stories and tend to make things look much bigger than they are. From my perspective the relationship between me and Adrian is the same as usual."
