Adrian Sutil insists he is focused on this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix despite facing a possible legal charge for an incident in a nightclub following the Chinese Grand Prix.

Earlier this week it emerged that Eric Lux, a Renault executive, intends to file a criminal complaint against Sutil for "physical and grievous bodily harm", although the exact details of the incident remain unclear to the media.

When asked in the Barcelona paddock how the past couple of weeks had been, Sutil said: "To be honest, that [Shanghai] is one part of my life but I'm concentrating on racing at the moment and that's what counts. I'm here in Barcelona, I want to focus on my race this weekend, I want to focus for the next one in Monaco. That is all I can answer at the moment."

When asked if it was difficult to focus, he added: "There are always difficult situations. I have to live with it."

Sutil's manager Manfred Zimmerman said no charges had been filed yet, but revealed that he had appointed a lawyer. He also played down suggestions that Sutil's place at Force India was not certain beyond this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

"The team has the right to monitor the situation, that is normal," he said. "But we beleive that Adrian will also be in the cockpit for all the remaining races [this season]"
