Force India has announced that Johnny Cecotto Jr will run alongside Max Chilton in the Abu Dhabi Young Driver Test.

Cecotto made his GP2 debut for Trident in the 2009-10 Asia Series, going on to compete in the full series that year and scoring three points. He then moved to Ocean Racing Technology for the 2011 season but failed to score a point. Force India has announced that Cecotto will get one day running the VJM04 on Wednesday, and that it will be his debut in a Formula One car.

Cecotto himself said that he would have a lot to learn but that he was hoping to impress during the test.

"I think all drivers want to race in Formula 1 so the chance to get time in the Sahara Force India F1 car is a big moment for me," Cecotto said. "In fact, I can't stop smiling at the thought of driving such an amazing car. I know there's a massive amount to learn and a lot of work to get through on the day, but I definitely feel ready to get behind the wheel. I hope I can do a good job and repay the faith the team have shown by giving me a chance in the car."
