Force India's car is expected to be ready by mid-February, meaning it is likely to miss the first test at Valencia.

The second test runs from February 10-13 but the team is indicating that it won't be track-ready until February 10. However, driver Adrian Sutil is not concerned and believes his team will carry the impressive progress it made at the end of last year into the new season.

"Our team is currently one of the few without any problems," he said. "There have been takeovers at Renault and Sauber, which is to our benefit. I am sure that in 2010 we will begin where we left off in 2009."

Force India's chief race engineer is also confident, and despite the late launch date, thinks his team is more prepared than many of its competitors.

"Unlike some other teams, we're not scratching around trying to put together a car at the last minute," he said.
