Paul di Resta has split from his manager Anthony Hamilton, the Force India driver has confirmed.

The news was broken by a source close to the driver and di Resta confirmed the split during a press conference at the British Grand Prix. It is believed the split was not planned and the Daily Telegraph described the situation between the pair as "delicate".

Di Resta told the press: "I think everything has been reported, but I can confirm we are not working together."

Asked how it would affect him going forward, especially with possible contract negotiations coming up, di Resta added: "At the moment I'm just fully focused on my racing. At the end of the day it's the results that count for me and that's what is going to drive me forward. I want to continue the progress and the focus this weekend is to have a good race."

Hamilton, the father of Lewis, guided his son's career until he was dumped in 2010. He has since played a key part in helping to steer di Resta's career and is credited with playing a key role in securing him his Formula One seat with Force India last season.
