A bit of extra luck will bring a podium - Mallya

Force India team principal Vijay Mallya believes a podium is possible for one of his two drivers if they can get a little bit of luck at the upcoming races.
Force India is currently eighth in the constructors' championship behind seven teams that have all scored at least one podium this season. The VJM05 has shown improved qualifying pace over the last two races and scored 16 points in Valencia before failing to score at the last race at Silverstone. But Mallya is not disheartened.
"It's satisfying to see that we are consistent top ten performers," Mallya said. "We need that little bit of extra luck to get on the podium. Having said that, our immediate competitors didn't have too much luck either [at Silverstone] - Perez and Maldonado were both going well, but they didn't score. Sauber didn't get any more points to increase their lead over us. We are still only three points adrift of Williams and 16 behind Sauber, so we have reasons to be optimistic going forward."
This weekend's German Grand Prix will be F1's first visit to the Hockenheim circuit with Pirelli tyres and Mallya is hoping it will make the racing more open.
"Yes, it's wide open in that sense," he said. "It's also Nico's home race. We have no time to take things easy. We have to take every race very seriously, with the same intensity and do everything we possibly can to earn more points."
