Rosberg concerned Mercedes is going 'backwards'

Nico Rosberg is worried that Mercedes is going "backwards" with the development of its car, after another poor performance at the European Grand Prix.
Despite having his best start to an F1 season to date, Rosberg's car has dropped off the pace in recent races and failed to qualify in the top ten in Valencia. He went on to take a single point in the race, but the result was still a huge disappointment as the team had brought a major upgrade to the car.
Both he and Michael Schumacher are struggling to get the tyres up to temperature over a single lap and Rosberg said he was now worried the team was falling a long way behind its competitors as a result.
"It's a disaster," he told the Cologne's Express. "The problem with the tyres is well known to the team. For weeks we have said we are coming to the front, but nothing happens - actually we go backwards. If you're twelfth, behind both Williams - who two weeks ago were nowhere - what do you expect? I went from Williams to Mercedes because I thought I would have a winning car."
Team principal Ross Brawn said Mercedes will continue to work on the W01, but admitted the time may come to redirect resources to the 2011 car.
"We have not done a good enough job," he admitted. "First we need to get our new aero package working properly, and depending on the result we will decide to what extent we then concentrate on next season."
