Biarritz have been dealt a major blow prior to Sunday's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Toulouse, with centre Damien Traille forced to withdraw due to injury.

The French international had been set to start at inside-centre at the Estadio Anoeta in San Sebastian, in what is a rerun of last year's final.

Traille pulled up in training on Friday with a bruised heel and has been replaced in the starting line-up by Charles Gimenez.

Laurent Tranier has been promoted to the bench as the Basque side look for revenge over their Top 14 rivals following defeat in last season's showpiece at the Stade de France.

Biarritz lost Australian fullback Dane Haylett-Petty to an ankle problem on Thursday, with his place in the side going to former England international Iain Balshaw.
