Bog Warrior will miss this year's Cheltenham Festival in favour of running in Ireland at the weekend.

The Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase winner has been entered in the RSA Chase, Arkle Trophy and Jewson Novices' Chase but will not fulfil his commitments next week.

Jockey Davy Russell confirmed that the eight-year-old would run at Naas on Sunday instead.

"He seems to be back to the same form he was in before Christmas and will go to Naas on Sunday," Russell confirmed. "He'll give Cheltenham a skip this year."

Meanwhile, trainer Edward O'Grady has also confirmed Staying Article and Cash And Go will miss the Festival.

Cash And Go, the Future Champions Novice Hurdle winner at Leopardstown, will miss the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, while Staying Article will not run in the Champion Hurdle.

"The owners of Cash And Go have decided that Cheltenham will come a bit soon for him after his disappointing run at Leopardstown last month," O'Grady said. "Staying Article has met with a minor setback and will probably miss the rest of the season."
