HRT not up to F1 standard - Klien
HRT's car is not up to the standard of Formula One's other teams, according to Friday test driver Christian Klien.
The F110 has consistently been off up to 6 seconds off the pace in the first four grands prix and Klien, a veteran of 48 F1 races, said it simply didn't meet the sport's high standards.
"The team has brought me in so I can give feedback to the engineers and compare the car with BMW and Honda," he said after clocking a time half a second quicker than race driver Bruno Senna. "The car is obviously not up to Formula One-standard. It has much too little downforce and the details are not as good as with the other cars."
He explained that the Dallara-built car is "very difficult" to drive, insisting the Cosworth "engine is not the main problem".
Klien is also quoted as saying that his contract is for the entire 2010 season.
