Yamamoto set to drive for HRT for the rest of the season
Sakon Yamamoto says he expects to keep his race seat at HRT for the remainder of the 2010 season.
It was reported last week that Karun Chandhok, who made way for Yamamoto in Germany, may be back for the final two races. It would mean that Bruno Senna, who also stood aside for the Japanese driver at Silverstone, would miss out again.
"I will finish the season," Yamamoto told Dutch website formule1.nl. "Whether I replace Bruno or Karun, I don't know. But it is certain that I will do all of the races.
"The team is deciding which of them will drive. But my position is in no doubt."
Chandhok, who sat out the last three grands prix, said that he understood the reasons for HRT's decision.
"The reasons [for missing races] seem fairly obvious but at the end of the day, the team has its reasons, financial or circumstantial," said Chandhok. "I think I will do two or three races before the end of the year but honestly, our focus has now shifted to 2011."
