Karun Chandhok spoke enthusiastically about the inaugural Indian Grand Prix in 2011 as well as his own personal pride in potentially being the first Indian to drive in a Formula One race on home soil.
"This is truly a historic moment for Indian motorsport," Chandhok said. "I am extremely excited to be a part of it.
"To be the first Indian driver on the grid at the Indian GP will be a huge thing to have on my CV. Hopefully we can attract a whole new set of fans to see the race live and make it a big success."
Chandhok has not raced since the German Grand Prix after Sakon Yamamoto replaced him, which has potentially left Chandhok without a seat for the rest of the 2010 season. However Chandhok remains optimistic about racing in India.
"We're all working hard to secure the best option for 2011."
