Maldonado to test for HRT in Abu Dhabi
GP2 champion Pastor Maldonado will undertake three days of testing with Hispania Racing at the season-ending Abu Dhabi programme, the team confirmed on Monday.
"It will be something special to test with Hispania Racing after being the GP2 champion," said Maldonado. "It will definitely be an experience and one I am looking forward to very much.
"The three days will be very important. I hope to contribute to the development of the team and to accumulate as much experience as possible."
It is not the first time that Maldonado will have driven an F1 car after testing for Minardi at Misano in 2004.
"My previous experience will be very important, at this test in particular. Having the experience that I do can only help me adapt to a new, more complex category. I know as well that it has only increased my determination to be successful."
Maldonado will also test for Williams at Abu Dhabi, sharing duties with Formula 2 champion Dean Stoneman for the Tuesday, Friday and Saturday sessions. He has substantial backing from his country's state-owned oil company PDVSA, rumoured to be worth $15 million, and the Venezuelan has been strongly linked with a race seat at Williams for 2011.
