Andy Murray remains on course for double Olympic gold after he booked his place in the mixed doubles final with Laura Robson.

Murray, who faces Roger Federer in the men's singles final after beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Friday, is guaranteed to leave Wimbledon with at least two silver medals after he and Robson claimed back-to-back wins on Saturday.

With their quarter-final match against Lleyton Hewitt and Sam Stosur postponed on Friday following Murray's late finish against Djokovic, the pair saw off the Australian pair before returning to the court to dispatch Germany's Christopher Kas and Sabine Lisicki 6-1 7-6(7) 10-7.

Spurred on by a fiercely patriotic home crowd, Murray and Robson got off to a blistering start against the German pair, Murray holding serve to love before grabbing an early break as they strolled through the opening set.

They looked to be firmly on course for victory as they grabbed a break early in the second set, but Robson's serve proved to be the weak link as she was broken twice after the pair had forged ahead.

Having come through one champions tiebreak to beat their Australian opponents earlier in the day, they were keen to avoid another, but a missed volley at the net by Murray proved costly as the Germans grabbed the second set tiebreak.

In a nervous decider, it was Lisicki who cracked to hand the advantage to the British pair, and having brought up three match points they converted at the first attempt after a thrilling rally.

Earlier, Murray and Robson looked to have seen victory slip from their grasp as they trailed Hewitt and Stosur 7-5 in the decisive breaker, but the home favourites battled back to claim a 6-3 3-6 10-8 victory.

Murray and Robson will now face either top seeds Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka or American doubles specialists Mike Bryan and Lisa Raymond in Sunday's final.
