Romain Grosjean believes Lotus' hopes of success this season hinge on whether it can assemble a large enough budget.

Lotus is the only one of the top five teams not to have a title sponsor, with a reported deal with technology company Honeywell not coming to fruition over the winter. Grosjean said he believes the team has all of the tools required to sustain a title challenge but will need more sponsorship to ensure it matches the development rate of the likes of Red Bull.

"It depends on the money that we have," Grosjean is quoted by Autosport. "That is the key in F1. We know we have good people, we know they are able to do a race winning car, we know that on development and on factory tools we are there, but then again everything is a question of what you can put into it."

Grosjean is optimistic that Raikkonen's victory in Melbourne will lead to the team's budget growing.

"Hopefully we get more sponsors, so more development and then more wins and then more sponsors. It's a cycle."
