Raikkonen - Perez still 'f***ed up the race'

Kimi Raikkonen feels just as angry towards Sergio Perez now as he did following the Monaco Grand Prix.

After the race the Lotus driver said Perez should be "punched in the face" for trying to pull off an audacious overtaking manoeuvre that resulted in contact and forced Raikkonen to make an extra pit stop. The Finn was running fifth before the collision but ended up tenth by the chequered flag.

On his arrival in Montreal he made clear that he is still angry about the lost points.

"I don't feel any different now because it doesn't change the fact that he ****ed up our race," he said. "Even if you asked one year from now it's still the same ending. We got one point back but it doesn't take away that it wasn't right."

Raikkonen said he would not bring the issue up at the drivers' briefing as FIA race director Charlie Whiting has already spoken to Perez.

"I spoke with the stewards and they thought it was a racing incident," he added. "They said I did nothing wrong but obviously there has to be somebody who did something wrong. I don't think it's going to change anything but Charlie spoke to Perez. I don't know what they talked about."

He added that there are only a few drivers on the grid that he trusts in wheel-to-wheel combat.

"Sometimes you have to be [more careful] with some guys because you cannot trust them," he said. "With the top five guys you trust them, and you know if they are there they are not going to turn into your line and they are going to race fair. We can be hard but we can be fair, it's okay to be aggressive but you have to have some idea behind an overtaking manoeuvre and not just hope that your rival is going to move over. Certain guys will race hard and fair and some guys you don't know what to expect."

Meanwhile, Lotus team-mate Romain Grosjean is facing a 10-place grid penalty this weekend for a collision with Daniel Ricciardo at Monaco. Grosjean believes the penalty is unfair.

"I don't compare with others, but I think it was too harsh to be honest," Grosejan said. "That's my point of view, but it's here and we have to take it and know that the best position we can start in is 11th."
